What's an Otome game?
"Otome" is the Japanese word for "maiden", so you could say it literately means "a game for girls".
To be more specific, these games are generally directed towards female players that have romantic tones.
These games have a female protagonist and has two or more male love interests. Sometimes known as GxB or Girl x Boy games.
Most commonly seen as visual novels, but can be in many genres.

What about other games that involve romance?
While otome games can overlap at times with yuri games, they are not to be confused with yaoi or bishojo games.
